LEADERSHIP: THE HEROES ON THE FRONTLINE

Win the contracts and customers; hold and inspire staff; beat the competition
Beware loss of clarity and focus, market crossfire, low morale, overload, burnout

Talk to any soldier and they'll tell you it's frontline troops, not generals, who fight the battles.  HQ may set direction and define key goals but it's platoon leaders and their troops, who go there.  They're the ones, who reconnoitre, take territory, dig in and fight.  Now, business isn't warfare.  But, the metaphor has its place.

And, when it comes to leadership, the frontline is where we need to focus hard.  Fail here; and, the company fails - and so will you, if you're the leader in charge.

On the frontline, you never stop addressing leadership issues: setting goals; taking charge; making decisions; serving customers; developing and guiding staff; and constantly scanning the horizon for what's changing.

So, why do so many businesses spend so little developing frontline leaders.  They invest in middle and senior leaders - with conferences, training courses, consultants and coaches.  But, at the front line (where real life happens), not much is done.

So, what can you do?  Well, here's an idea.  Show them who's the leader.  Take things into your own hands.  Aim to be the best.

Use my V|E|C|T|O|R® Leadership framework to define what you're going to do, and when.  This will lift productivity and teamwork - and, create a unique value-add.

And, since the framework's now online, you get this big business tool at a small business price.  So, it's affordable as well as great value – for you or any other frontline leader.  Also, for any owner of a small or medium-sized business

Show those generals (and other HQ types) you're as good as them, or better!
