Our Downloadable Resource Pack - $17 each

I've written nine specially themed Action Packs for you to consider. Each deals with a particular aspect of leadership. The topics range from Defining the Path Ahead through Creating a Performance Culture to Building a Personal Brand.

You can see the full list of titles in the right hand column. Click on whichever appeals to read more and purchase.

There is also a special tenth Pack, which I will describe further below.

The Packs are equally relevant for CEOs, division heads and front-line supervisors. Also for HR executives and coaches, who work with leaders. Each provides practical pointers, case examples and helps you create your own plan - a personal action list of what you'll do to lift your leadership effectiveness and business performance.

Leadership and You

There's no doubt as to the importance of leadership. The story of any entity - whether a nation, business or non-profit - is a story of leadership. About individuals and teams creating their vision and making plans, building support, driving things forward and not giving up until the goals are realised. And, thereafter, constantly renewing and revitalising the organisation - always aiming for new goals and better outcomes.

By definition, you must learn to be a leader if delivering your own goals requires the involvement and commitment of others. These others may include subordinates but equally, and often more importantly peers, who control expertise or resources you need to access. It includes everyone you need to take on the journey with you.

Each of us has areas of leadership, where our upbringing, training or experience has given us some advantage. Perhaps, we relate well; are technically proficient; generate ideas; or, communicate well. Equally, we may have gaps. We're not good on detailed planning; find it hard to enthuse people; or, focus more on immediate problems than future possibilities.

Like everyone else, I share this imbalance: there are some things I do OK and others (such as relating to a broader range of people and delegating sufficiently) where I could do better. Addressing such gaps is what these Leadership Action Packs are all about.

What You'll Learn and Take Away

Each of these nine Action Packs deals with a specific area of leadership and in just over 20 pages provides you with the following:

  • Four articles, each one explaining part of the broader theme and providing action steps to get you started, also mini-cases to illustrate successful (and unsuccessful) action, and half a dozen questions to check if you're on top of things.
  • A tailored action-plan format, with relevant headings, in which to create your personal action list: what you're going to do to lift your effectiveness in terms of the topic of this Pack.
  • Three shorter bonus articles. These are from the library of my weekly Pascoe's Potshots - and you'll receive all future weekly Potshots FREE if you purchase any of the Action Packs.
  • Supporting material including introductory notes about leadership-in-perspective, an overview of V|E|C|T|O|R and my personal history in relation to leadership. It's a life's journey.

The GFC Pack

Late in 2009, I compiled a special Pack titled Learning from the GFC. The financial crisis, like any setback, has lessons for each of us. The need for quick response, flexible and innovative thinking, positive attitude, stamina and perseverance. These hardship lessons are the bedrock on which to build your whole-of-career success.

This GFC Pack is slightly larger and somewhat different in structure to the others. But, it has the same practical mindset: with leadership examples, checklists and action suggestions. Most importantly, a format for preparing your personal action list.

OUR SHARED LEADERSHIP JOURNEY

I hope you enjoy the Action Packs - and find them worth your investment. They've been a labour of love. I set great store by the power and importance of leadership. Also, in our personal need to continue improving how we lead. For each of us, it's about becoming more conscious of what we do, how we do it and, most importantly, what actions to take to be more effective. I hope therefore you'll join me on this shared journey of leadership development.
